Captain William McCullough

McCullough was a company commander of the Kentucky Rangers in 1812. He led skirmishes against the British and their Native American allies as the Army of the Northwest was positioning itself to attack Ft. Malden. Apparently, McCullough had the distinction of having taken the first native scalp of the war. Only days later at Brownstown on August 5th, McCullough was himself scalped.
