Colonel Thomas Sidney Jesup

Jesup served on the staff of William Hull and was greatly ashamed of the quick surrender of the Ft. Detroit.

Jesup was eventually exchanged back to the United States and promoted to the command of the US 25th Infantry, fighting in the battles of Chippewa and Lundy's Lane. Despite heavy losses and Jesup being wounded, the 25th managed to capture British General Phineas Riall at Lundy's Lane.

[He was Quartermaster general of the US army from 1818 to 1860 . . . the longest continual service in the same position in the US military.]
