Back Again

Brig. Gen. George McClure's forces return to Ft. George after five days of marching 20 miles north on bad roads and in bad weather. He claims to have captured 400 barrels of flour. In any case, his efforts to use the militia and talk them into staying longer backfire with this raid. They announce, after their return that they will leave when their enlistment is up in 10 days. He offers them a bounty of $2 extra a month. The offer is rejected.
