Lewis Takes Command

Gen. Wilkinson leaves are army for Malone, after transferring the command of the army to Gen. Lewis, who, with General Boyd, made their headquarters with the troops at French Creek and began the task of building huts for the winter.

Later Lewis and Boyd obtained a leave of absence, and the command of the army devolved to Brig. Gen. Brown.
