Siege of Ft. Wayne Continues, September 9, 1812

At Ft. Wayne one Native American, with a flag, threatened a general massacre of the garrison within three days, as a reinforcement of seven hundred warriors were expected the next day. The troops were not frightened by the threat. They resolved to hold out while their provisions lasted. For nearly three days after the menace there was quiet. Attacks were renewed on this date and kept up a fire at intervals for twelve hours.
