Sotterley Plantation

As part of the battle of St. Leonard's Creek, the British landed at Sotterley Plantation driving off 300 militia without firing a shot. The militia left their shocked commander, Col. Plater to be captured by the British.

Treated with some respect by the British, possibly for attempting to make a stand on his own, he was later accused of treason for treating with the enemy.
