No Church Due to Invasion

No meeting from 21st May 1814 to 27 March 1815 owing to the situation into which the country was thrown by the invasion of the British army in August . . . several leaves here and some other parts of this book were torn out by some of Ross's soldiers who found the book in the Church w[h]ere it [was] put for safe keeping. To their eternal disgrace be it recorded, John Read Magruder, clerk of the vestry Trinity Episcopal Church.
