Tall Fellow

British Maj. Gen. Fredrick Robinson was happy to repeat a story told to him by his father in which the older man claimed that all Americans were short people.

While a guest in a house in Plattsburg, Peter Hensinger was deliberately selected to serve the general his dinner. Peter was six feet seven and weighed 260 pounds. Upon seeing the lad, Robinson responded, "If the Yankees are all like him, the Lord deliver us from fighting them."
