Cook's Mills

The Battle of Cook's Mills was the last battle on the Niagara frontier during the 1814 campaign prior to the US evacuation of Fort Erie the following month. The affair was the last significant engagement between two regular armies in Canada with nearly 2000 participates from British, Canadian and American land forces. Come help us honour and celebrate the 200th anniversary of this nationally significant event as we near the conclusion of the bicentennial and rejoice the 200 years of peace between our two great nations.

This event is a full scale re-enactment over two days and is the final event of the Niagara Campaign 1814-2014 signature event series for the Bicentennial. The event is hosted by the Welland 1812 Bicentennial Committee with support from the City of Welland, Region of Niagara, and the Niagara 1812 Legacy Council. The event is organized by the Canadian Military Heritage Society (49th Regiment of Foot recreated) with support from the staff of Fort Erie and Fort George. P
